San Juan Palm Beach Fiberglass Pool in Winter Springs, FL

San Juan Palm Beach fiberglass pool with a sheer descent waterfall, acrylic knockdown deck and bronze screen enclosure in Winter Springs
Finished: a sheer descent waterfall from a tiled planter, an acrylic knockdown deck and a bronze screen enclosure

This Winter Springs fiberglass pool is a San Juan Palm Beach, a compact oval pool that fits the backyard and still leaves room for a big deck. We set the shell, built a tiled raised planter with a sheer descent waterfall that spills into the pool, poured a concrete deck that ties into the existing covered patio, finished it in acrylic knockdown, and built a bronze pool screen enclosure over it. Southern Construction built it in 2019.

How we built it

  1. Shell set. We dug, set the Palm Beach shell level, plumbed it and backfilled it.
  2. Deck forms. We formed the deck out from the pool and up to the existing covered patio.
  3. Concrete pour. We poured and screeded the deck right up to the pool edge in one pour.
  4. Acrylic knockdown. Once the concrete cured, we finished it in acrylic knockdown, which stays cooler underfoot than bare concrete.
  5. Planter and waterfall. We built a raised planter at the pool edge, finished it in tile and set a sheer descent waterfall that spills a sheet of water into the pool.
  6. Screen enclosure. We built a bronze screen enclosure over the pool and deck.

Frequently asked questions

Is a small fiberglass pool like the Palm Beach a good fit for a Winter Springs yard?

Yes. At about 21′ x 10′, the Palm Beach leaves room for a full deck and patio furniture in a typical backyard, and it is still big enough to cool off, float and play in.

What is an acrylic knockdown deck?

It is a poured concrete deck with a textured acrylic coating on top. It stays cooler underfoot than bare concrete, gives better grip around the water, and comes in several colors. See our concrete pool decks.

Can you add a waterfall to a small fiberglass pool?

Yes. On this Winter Springs Palm Beach we built a tiled raised planter at the pool edge with a sheer descent waterfall that spills a sheet of water into the pool. It adds sound and movement without taking up deck space.

Do you build pools in Seminole County?

Yes. We build fiberglass pools across Seminole County, including Winter Springs, Sanford, Lake Mary, Oviedo and Casselberry.
