San Juan Wylela Beach Fiberglass Pool in Casselberry, FL

Rectangular San Juan Wylela Beach fiberglass pool with acrylic knockdown deck and artificial turf
Finished pool with an acrylic knockdown deck and artificial turf

This Casselberry fiberglass pool is a clean, rectangular backyard build. We set a San Juan Wylela Beach fiberglass pool with a crane over the house, poured a concrete deck finished in acrylic knockdown, and installed artificial turf all the way around it. The deck is open, with no screen enclosure, so the whole yard feels like one space. The Wylela Beach has a big tanning ledge at one end for lounging chairs and young kids, and enough length to actually swim.

How we built it

  1. Delivery. The Wylela Beach shell came in on a trailer, straight from San Juan.
  2. Crane set. We rigged the shell and set it with a crane over the house in one clean lift, which kept heavy equipment off the lawn and left the fence untouched.
  3. Level and plumb. We set the shell level on a crushed stone base and plumbed it.
  4. Backfill. We backfilled around the shell while filling it with water, so the pressure stays even on both sides of the wall.
  5. Concrete deck. We formed and poured the deck around the pool and up to the house.
  6. Acrylic knockdown. The deck got an acrylic knockdown finish, which stays cooler underfoot and gives better grip than bare concrete.
  7. Artificial turf. We finished the yard with artificial turf around the deck: green all year, no mowing, and no grass clippings blowing into the pool.

Fitting a fiberglass pool in a Casselberry backyard

  • Most backyards fit one: we can fit a fiberglass shell in most Casselberry backyards, and San Juan makes them in a wide range of sizes and shapes, from compact pools to long lap-style models like this Wylela Beach
  • We pick the cleanest way in: depending on the yard, the shell comes in on the ground or by crane over the house, whichever keeps your lawn, fence and landscaping in the best shape
  • A fast install: a fiberglass shell arrives finished from the factory, so once it is set and backfilled, the deck can follow quickly
  • Finish it your way: an open deck with turf like this one, pavers, or a full screen enclosure, all from one company
