Panel prices are per panel, installed, with Phifer 18×14 American-made screen. There is no minimum service charge and no trip fee.
Why We Use Phifer American-Made Screen
Every screen we install is Phifer, woven in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. A lot of cheaper rescreens use imported mesh. It looks the same on day one. It doesn’t hold up the same way in Florida sun, humidity and storms. That’s a big part of why our panel prices are higher.

- Stronger yarn: Phifer’s pool and patio screen uses a larger fiberglass core yarn, 50% stronger than the yarn in window screen. Phifer reports that some imports add crushed-rock filler to the coating, which makes the screen heavier but weaker.
- Coating built for Florida UV: Phifer’s 18×14 and 20×20 screens use a proprietary PVC coating, unchanged for over 25 years, formulated to resist UV damage, brittleness and tearing.
- Made in the USA: Phifer weaves its screen in Alabama, so there are no overseas shipping delays when storms hit and everyone needs a rescreen.
- Easy to verify: genuine Phifer comes wrapped in brown paper, with tan or tan-and-red yarns along the edge. Ask to see the roll before we start.
Cheaper screen that has to be replaced years early costs more in the end: you pay for the screen and the labor twice.
What We Repair
- Torn or sagging panels: pet damage, kids, branches, or panels pulled out of the channel.
- Full rescreens: new screen on every wall and roof panel of an existing pool cage or porch.
- Rusted screws and anchors: we replace corroded screws and Tapcon anchors that weaken the frame.
- Hurricane tie-downs: we replace damaged or missing tie-downs.
- Storm damage: blown-out roof panels, bent members and loose spline after a storm.
- Screen doors: rescreened doors, closers, hinges and door sweeps.

Screen Options
- Phifer 18×14 bronze: our standard screen and what most Central Florida pool cages use.
- Phifer 20×20 No-See-Um: a tighter weave that stops no-see-ums and small insects. It blocks slightly more airflow.
- Phifer Pet Screen: a heavy-duty screen that resists tears from dogs and cats, good for lower panels and doors.
- Phifer “Florida Glass”: a vinyl-laminated screen for privacy and knee walls. It is a screen product, not glass.
Repair, Rescreen or Replace?
- Repair panels when the damage is limited to a few panels and the rest of the screen is still flexible.
- Rescreen the whole cage when the screen is chalky, brittle or tearing in many places, or when you want a different screen type. The aluminum frame stays.
- Replace the enclosure when the frame itself is bent, corroded or loose at the footer. Southern Construction is a licensed Florida general contractor (CGC1511557), so we can permit and build a new cage. See pool and porch enclosures.

How much does it cost to fix one pool cage panel?
Lower sidewall panels are $145, sidewall panels are $165 and roof panels are $195, installed with 18×14 screen.
How much does it cost to rescreen a whole pool cage?
Full rescreens are priced by the square foot of wall and roof screen, so the price depends on the size of the cage. We measure for free and give you a written quote.
Why do your screen panels cost more than other companies?
We install Phifer screen made in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, not imported mesh. In Phifer’s testing, imported 18×14 screen was weaker than Phifer’s own window screen. Stronger screen lasts longer in Florida, so you rescreen less often.
What brand of screen do you use?
Phifer, on every job: 18×14 Pool & Patio Screen as standard, 20×20 No-See-Um Screen as an option.
Can you replace just one panel instead of rescreening everything?
Yes. We replace single panels. If the rest of the screen is brittle, we’ll tell you before we start.
Do you fix storm and hurricane damage?
Yes. We replace blown-out panels and repair bent or loose members. If the frame is structurally damaged, we quote a permitted replacement.
Do you fix the aluminum frame too, or just the screen?
Both. We replace rusted screws and anchors, damaged tie-downs and bent members, and we are a licensed Florida general contractor, so we can permit and rebuild a cage when the frame is beyond repair.
Do I need a permit to rescreen my pool cage?
A rescreen or panel repair usually does not need a permit. Structural repairs and new enclosures do, and we pull the permit when one is required.
Do you replace window screens?
Yes. New standard-size window screens are $45 each.

What warranty do you offer?
Every job carries our 1-year workmanship warranty, and the screen and materials carry the manufacturer’s warranty.

Do you work on motorized screens?
