Custom Gunite Pool & Spa with Fire Bowls in Deltona, FL

Custom gunite pool with fire and water bowls, raised spa and MegaView screen enclosure — Finished: fire and water bowls, a raised spa and a tanning ledge under the MegaView enclosure

This Deltona custom pool is one of our highest-end builds. It is a custom gunite pool with a raised hot tub that spills over into the pool in several places, a tanning ledge with bubblers, and fire and water bowls on a custom glass tile wall. The interior is a glass bead finish, the deck is travertine, and a MegaView pool screen enclosure covers it all. While we were there, we also installed a 1,000-gallon underground propane tank and a whole-home Generac generator. Southern Construction built it in 2024.

How we built it

Layout, steel and plumbing. We laid out the pool and the raised spa, tied the steel, and roughed in the plumbing for the jets, bubblers, spillovers and fire and water bowls.
Gunite. We shot the gunite shell in place, forming the pool, the tanning ledge, the steps and the raised spa in one structure.
Glass tile. Custom glass tile went on the waterline, the raised wall and the spa, so the spillovers run over tile.
Fire and water bowls. We set fire and water bowls on the raised wall. They pour water into the pool and burn on top at the same time.
Glass bead finish. We finished the interior with a glass bead finish, which sparkles in the sun and feels smooth underfoot.
Travertine and enclosure. We laid a travertine deck and built a MegaView screen enclosure, which uses wider panels and fewer posts so the view stays open.
Propane and generator. We also installed a 1,000-gallon underground propane tank and a whole-home Generac generator, so the house keeps power when the grid goes down.
