Fiberglass Pool Inspections & Replacement Estimates in Central Florida
If you have concerns about how your fiberglass pool was installed, Southern Construction can inspect it and provide a written report of the conditions we observe, with photos, measurements and an itemized like-for-like replacement estimate. Homeowners, insurance companies and attorneys can use it as supporting documentation. The inspection and report are free with your replacement estimate. We are an authorized Latham and San Juan fiberglass pool dealer, a licensed Florida pool contractor (CPC 1461713), and family owned and operated since 2005, serving Volusia, Seminole, Orange and Osceola counties. Call 386-574-7567 or request an inspection.
Conditions we inspect
- Elevation: pool, coping and deck heights compared with the plans, the patio and the surrounding grade.
- Level: water line and tile line from end to end.
- Grading and drainage: deck and yard slope, standing water, fill against fences or walls.
- Shell: wall bulges, cracks, floor heave, steps or benches separating.
- Plumbing, equipment and deck: leaks, equipment sizing and placement, deck cracking or settling, bonding.
- Plans and scope: how the finished work compares with the plans and permit documents you provide.
What the report includes
- Measured elevations and level readings.
- Dated photos of the conditions observed, with notes referencing the plans, permit documents and manufacturer installation guidelines where they apply.
- Repair and replacement options, from re-leveling to removing and replacing the shell, and which are practical for the site.
- An itemized like-for-like replacement estimate: removal and disposal, a replacement shell of the same brand and model, excavation, plumbing, equipment, deck and site restoration.
Why a fiberglass dealer
A like-for-like estimate for a fiberglass pool has to price the actual shell, freight, crane set, backfill and install, which differ from a concrete pool. As a Latham and San Juan dealer, we price the actual replacement shell and installation.
When pool installations go wrong, manufacturers such as San Juan Pools call us, and we write the reports.
How it works
- Call or text us with your address, the pool brand and model if you know it, and your concerns.
- Send what you have: plans, permit documents, photos and any earlier reports.
- On-site inspection. We measure and photograph the shell, deck, grade, plumbing and equipment.
- Written report and estimate, sent to you to share with whoever you choose.
FAQ
Can a fiberglass pool that sits too high be lowered?
Sometimes. It depends on how it was backfilled, what’s under it and whether the shell can be removed intact. In many cases a new shell is the practical option. We note which applies after the inspection.
Can you match my exact pool?
For Latham and San Juan shells, yes: we are a dealer for both and can price the same model. For other brands we price the closest equivalent and note that in the report.
Can insurance companies or attorneys use the report?
Yes. The report documents the conditions we observe and our estimated replacement cost, and anyone you share it with can reference it.
How much does an inspection and report cost?
Nothing. The inspection and written report are free and come with your replacement estimate.
Can you also do the repair or replacement?
Yes. We install fiberglass and concrete pools, decks and screen enclosures.
Our reports describe the conditions we observe on the day of the inspection and our estimated replacement costs. They are not legal opinions, engineering certifications or expert testimony, and they do not determine fault or responsibility. Estimates are based on current pricing and site conditions and may change.
